Think Before You Act

Did you know one of the worst things you can do is act before you think? Well guys that’s what I did this week.   I acted before I thought. Worse yet, I acted before I had taken time to pray or read my bible. It all started last Friday night Joslin wasn’t feeling good and Chuck and I noticed that her jaw line was swollen, so in fear she might have an abscess, I took her to the ER and we didn’t get home until 3am Saturday morning. Tuesday I had to take Joslin to the dentist to confirm she does have an abscess and will need 2 baby teeth pulled next week. Wednesday Jadin went to the dentist to get 2 baby teeth pulled because his permanent teeth were coming in and his baby teeth were not getting loose. One of those days my dryer went out, my kids are in K12 online school and they are trying to get caught back up after missing 3 days of school, and then Thursday I got mad at my dad. I had already planned to drop my kids off at my parent’s house so that I could go to rehearsal, so I did that, went to rehearsal, went back and got my kids from my parents, and then went home and sat at the kitchen table and cried to Chuck about everything that had happened.

Wow! That is a whole lot you might say and it is but it’s how you deal with it that makes all the difference. This whole week, I was so stressed, drained, tired, and pushed to my breaking point, but I didn’t have to be. All I had to do was ask for help and their are plenty of people that probably would have stepped into help, but instead I tried to do it all myself and I ended up making a mess. By Thursday night I was so mad, ticked off and at my wits end that when I got to rehearsal at church, my husband was doing a devotion for the team and I sat there and played a game on my phone, even when everyone bowed their head to pray, I continued to play on my phone. I didn’t even begin to think that I had been in the wrong until my husband and I were sitting at the kitchen table talking and he asked me how his devotion was and I honestly couldn’t answer him. I told him “I’m sorry I don’t know, I was playing a game on my phone.” We talked more about everything that had happened throughout the week
