Seek and You Will Find

Tonight I went to Wal Mart for some alone time. It seems like the only place to really go after 11pm. My son's birthday is right around the corner, so I had my eye on some things there. A few weeks ago I foundd a drum set that my husband and I wanted to get him, so I decided to get it tonight. I got over to the clearance section and it was gone. I looked up and down the clearance isles, didn't find it. Went back to the toy department, didn't find it. Went up front to the clearance up front, no luck there either. I was starting to get a little heart broken.  At that moment I started thinking (aka Jesus started talking to me) "you know we should be doing the same thing with Jesus. We should be looking high and low for Jesus. Looking for Him, looking for His people, looking for the people in need." As I went on I prayed "Father please help me to find this drum set, it is not for me, it is for my son."  I got back over to the clearance section one more...

Train Your Children

Today I had to teach my son a lesson. Some of the hardest things in life I have come to find out are when you have to teach your children about the real world. For some reason these life lessons are beginning earlier and earlier with our up coming generations. It really irritates me and drives me crazy to know that not only do I have to guard my children from movies and regular TV but also have to guard them from cartoons. This simply should not be. I have seen some cartoons here recently that make me want to throw my TV out the window. The other thing that makes me sick is that I have to guard my children from family members, family members that don't understand my point of view who call themselves Christians and then live a life of Satan (best word I could come up with.) I know this sounds a bit harsh, but I don't think it is right to have to be teaching a 2 year old the life lesson I had to teach him today, and  the worst thing about it all is to realize that myself and my h...

Jesus Threw a Curve Ball

What do you do when Jesus throws you a curve ball you are diffidently not ready for. You're kind of excited but also very scared. It's not 100% guaranteed yet, but it is looking to go in that direction. What do you do? Do you worry yourself to death about it, pray through it, what? Too many of us will opt to worry ourselves to death about things that we cannot change.  So what would it look like if we prayed through it? What would happen if we prayed through it and talked to Jesus until we found out the out come? Would it change the out come, probably not, but it would diffidently change your view of the out come. You would diffidently be ready for the out come and be ready to take on the world. So when Jesus throws you a curve ball, talk to Him about it. Ask Him to help you during the waiting time until you find out the out come. Ask Him to change your view of the possible out come, and be ready for something amazing to happen.   Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it...

Man & Woman Understanding Each Other

How many of you men out there know exactly when and what to buy your significant other? Do you just go buy them something or does your significant other have to tell you? Neither one is wrong. How many of you women out there know what your husband wants? Do you take the initiative or do they have to ask? Again neither one is wrong. What it really comes down to is knowing your significant other and that requires listening and communicating. That goes for men and women alike.   One thing we as men and women have to understand is that we all don't have the same love language. They also change from time to time. Most of the time where women are concerned in order to make us feel the most loved is to surprise us with a clean house, take us out on a date that the guy has completely planned out himself, and to get us gifts every so often (whatever they might be) (mine are flowers,) and to sit down with us every so often and just listen and hold us. For a guy it is most of the t...

Future Generations

Are we afraid of what will hapen when we get old and have to pass the teaching and leading of Jesus to the children growing up today? If  so why? Are we afraid they won't care as much or do something to hurt the name of Jesus? We need to stop for a moment as adults of this generation and don't put such a heavy burden on the generations coming up. Do you want to know the hard truth? Good cuz I'm gonna tell ya. The generations growing up and to come are only as good and as strong as the adult generations leading and teaching them. If our kids and future generations fail to be the hands and feet of Jesus, we need to look at ourselves first and ask what we did wrong. So what can we do to get our kids and future generations ready to lead and teach and be the hands and feet of Jesus? Here are a few easy tips to get started. #1 Put Jesus ahead of yourself. How do you do that you ask? Get in your word, pray, and think on things Jesus would do and not what you would do. #2 ...
