God's Saving Grace
Did you know that Jesus loves us all the same? That's right He does. He died for every last one of us. That is how much He loves us and He hates to see any of us try to go through this world alone without Him.
Tonight Chuck and I went to NLC to support an old friend that we have not seen for years. The first time this friend and I met I was not saved and he was one of the key people that led me to Jesus. After I started dating Chuck, this friend had some things happen in his life and he turned away from Jesus all together. As years went by I would ask people how he was doing and every so often I would see him in passing and then one day he showed up at our church at a Celebrate Recovery event. Chuck and I found out where he was and Chuck went to visit him today and then we went to church with him tonight.
Chuck and I did not see him for almost 7 years, but we never stopped praying for him. We believed that one day he would come back to Jesus. We believed that one day something would happen in his life that would turn his eyes back to Jesus and it did. We don't know what it was but we thank God for it.
What is my point with this story? It is this: If a friend of yours falls away from Jesus, you don't just let them fall. You throw down a rope and if they refuse to grab it then you climb down that rope and go get them. Continuously pray for them and never underestimate the power of prayer. You may not see it working but one day God will show you just how much your praying has paid off. And finally if an old friend that has been away from Jesus for quit a while comes back to Him and God just so happens to bring them back into your life, love them where they stand. Ask no questions. Just simply love them.
